Accident Condition Report

Bronx, NY

We conducted a pavement evaluation to establish location and condition report for an accident that took place approximately nine years ago in Bronx County, New York. We were able to locate the original work done by a subcontractor to a major energy supply company and we successfully assisted the defense team in establishing particulars surrounding the accident on that date. Based upon the boards presented, we were able to defend the allegation of negligence with a considerable savings and cost. This work was done for a law office in White Plains, New York.


Floor Slab Study

Highland Falls, NY

Our office was retained to analyze damage done during the floods of January 1996. The damage sustained was primarily located in the basement area whereby water entered the dwelling through the bottom of the floor slab, thus creating extensive hydrostatic uplift damage to the recreation room as well as the basement area of this home. We were able to prove to FEMA that damage sustained was in excess of their original estimate for this home. We were instrumental in increasing the award to this dwelling to about $8,000.


ZBA Hearing

Warwick, NY

MJS Engineering was retained to provide expert testimony at a Town of Warwick Zoning Board of Appeals hearing for their proposed subdivision in the Pine Island section of the Town of Warwick. Our office was able to outline and convince the zoning board of appeals that this subdivision would not have any adverse impacts to the surrounding property owners.


Sewer System Evaluation

Woodbury, NY

We conducted a detailed evaluation of two instances of sewage backing up into the basement of a residence in the Town of Woodbury. Our office was retained by the client's attorney to provide a detailed analysis as to the causes and make recommendations as to the remediation necessary. This assignment also consisted of a detailed cost analysis for the recommended remediation.


Pump Station Analysis

Village of Goshen, NY

MJS Engineering was retained to perform a detailed observation as to the condition of an existing pump station which serves 55 condominium units. We performed this study by researching all available records, conducting a on-site observation and interview of the present maintenance company. Our off was able to identify safety concerns which needed immediate attention, as well as outline remediation for the long term operation of this system.
